The 2026 APDR Congress will be hosted at the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (IPCA) in the Barcelos campus.

The IPCA is based in Barcelos and has five other locations in the Cávado and Ave region (Braga, Esposende, Guimarães, Vila Nova de Famalicão and Vila Verde).

How to get to the IPCA

You can get to IPCA in Barcelos by car, train, or bus. The most direct public transport options from Porto include taking a train to Barcelos or a bus to Barcelos from the main bus terminal. Once in Barcelos, you can use local buses, walk, or cycle to the campus.


Public Transportation

Train: Take a train to Barcelos. From Barcelos station, you can walk (about 200 meters), cycle on the 800-meter path, or take a local bus (like line 111, 115, U3, or 214) to reach the campus.

  • Lisboa > Porto > Nine > Barcelos (North)

  • Vigo > Valença > Viana do Castelo > Barcelos (International)

Bus: Take a bus from Porto's main bus terminal to Barcelos. The main bus terminal is a short walk from the Trindade metro station in Porto.

Local connections: Use public transport services provided by Cávado Mobilidade for local connections within the region.

Driving

From Porto: You can take a car from Porto to Barcelos. The campus is located near the city of Barcelos.

On campus: The campus has parking, and there is also a cycle path that surrounds the campus.
